More Info
  • The Inkan Kena Centro Espiritual (IPA: ɪɴkɒɴkeɴɑ) is located in a beautiful, secluded area of the Amazon rainforest that is easy to access, as it is a short drive outside of Iquitos, the largest jungle city inaccessible by road in Peru. It is the vision of indigenous Shipibo curandero (healer) Enrique Lopez.

Don Enrique is a Shipibo curandero originally from the RoaBoya community near Pucallpa. Don Enrique comes from a long line of curanderos and began studying with his grandfather at the age of 11.  He both heals with plants in ceremonies with ayahuasca, and as a vegetalista, which is someone who heals with various plant remedies and treatments. He also trains many aspiring curanderos, through traditional plant diets (dietas), and by teaching vegetalismo, the traditional methods of curing with plants. He now has successful apprentices healing many people in different areas of the world. He works with his wife Wilma, his brother Miguel, and his father Marco.

The Inkan Kena Centro Espiritual was inspired by Don Enrique's close relationship with God and the plants, as the Spirit of God moved him to begin healing and teaching all people, he built the center as a way to make traditional healing  more accessible to foreigners. Over the years, he has worked closely with Carlos Tanner and the Ayahuasca Foundation, and in a great testament to his determination and capability, in the past four years has built Inkan Kena from the ground up into a fully functional treatment center with running water and comfortable lodging, all from the earnings he has made healing people on retreats and teaching seminars with the Ayahuasca Foundation and others.

The center now operates year round, hosting seminars for the Ayahuasca Foundation, as well as healing patients, hosting groups, and teaching long-term students and those doing dietas.  On average the center treats about 10-12 people per month, and has successfully healed many illnesses.
